Summer’s almost here – time to get your top off!

As April rolls around and the snow has finally melted, we all start to think of long summer days, and offroad adventures with our Jeeps. The excitement builds as you start thinking about taking your Jeep hardtop off, and switching to a soft top for offroading under the sun.

Your new Jeep soft top needs to be convenient and easy to use. With all the 4×4 soft top brands out there, it’s hard to narrow down tops that’ll be uncomplicated AND durable. So, we’ve done the hard work for you. Here are three Jeep soft tops reviews from our favourite and most asked-for brand, Bestop.

Review #1; Bestop Trektop NX Glide convertible soft top in Black Twill

The Bestop Trektop NX Glide in Black Twill was launched this month, and its design is inspired by their most popular soft top, the Trektop NX. The new Bestop Trektop NX Glide is available in Black Diamond and Black Twill, but for durability, longevity (and its limited lifetime warranty), we prefer the 30oz, triple layer Black Twill.

The Bestop Trektop NX Glide’s extreme ease of operation, plus the zipperless side and rear panels (yes, zipperless!!) makes this soft top our top pick. Just slide out and remove the rear and side window panels, and the Trektop NX Glide performs just like a convertible top! It also folds down behind the rear seat, for a full open air Jeep experience.

The Trektop NX Glide also includes a Sunrider panel. This allows the soft top to flip back over the driver and passenger, and features an integrated storage pocket for small items.

Review #2: Bestop Trektop Pro Hybrid Jeep Soft Top

You probably thought it couldn’t be done, but the Bestop Trektop Pro Hybrid Soft Top really does combine the best features of soft and hard tops. The Trektop Pro Hybrid top is a must have for people with minimal storage space and time. The industry-first rear glass hatch on a 4×4 soft top is easily removed, along with the side windows that simply slide out.

With one hand operation, the Trektop Pro Hybrid top really is effortless and convenient. Drive on or offroad in the summer with the wind in your hair and the Sunrider panel flipped back, or keep warm in winter driving with the rear defrost turned on full! For a really cool design that works well in all weathers, the Bestop Trektop Pro Hybrid Soft Top is ideal.

Review #3: Bestop Supertop NX in Black Twill

The third Bestop soft top we looked at was the Supertop NX in Black Twill. This style is similar to the factory soft top, but with a few upgraded items. Bestop have included quick release bow knuckles for ease of use. The hardware is black powder coated to resist corrosion and is scratch resistant The heat sealing YKK zippers offer strength and good protection from extreme climate. The Bestop Supertop NX offers a great material and hardware upgrade from the stock soft top while still giving the appearance of a stock jeep.

Our No1 Jeep soft top for summer

As you can see, we chose the Bestop Trektop NX Glide in Black Twill as our clear favourite. As much as we enjoyed the close OEM (original equipment manufacture) idea of the Bestop Supertop NX, the zipperless action of the Bestop Trektop Glide NX came out on top. You really can’t go wrong with any of the new features that Bestop has added to their best selling top, the Trektop NX, and it looks really cool too.

We had a lot of fun comparing these three Bestop Jeep soft tops. We would love to hear your feedback on what you would like us to compare next!

Happy 4×4 Season!
